Removing Barriers Job Readiness

Support Services

Removing Barriers Job Readiness is a comprehensive support service that aims to prepare the workforce for careers that pay a progressive wage and benefits so that workers contribute to building the cycle of positive community development.

Programs and Services

Services include tattoo removal, financial literacy, essential skills, professional clothing, and childcare, drawing clients from the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Childcare Services

We subsidize childcare for all working San Pablo residents and any of those attending class at Contra Costa College or enrolled in one of our job training courses at the College's Early Learning Center.

Homeownership

The WISH Program offers first-time homebuyers grants of up to $22,000, matching $4 for every $1 contributed by the homebuyer toward the purchase of a home.

Job Readiness Workshops

Monthly job readiness workshops are offered in a variety of topics including resume, cover letter, and interview assistance. Presentations are led by industry experts from the community.

Professional Clothing

We provide appointments and workshops at Wardrobe For Opportunity to allow those without means enrolled in our job readiness and training programs to get a new, complete outfit in which they might interview.

Tattoo Removal

Removing Barriers Tatoo Removal is a low-cost laser tattoo removal program offered by the San Pablo EDC and City of San Pablo. We offer flat-fee laser tattoo removal every third Saturday of the month.
